Q: Tell us about yourself!
A: I am from Alexandria, VA. I grew up in a multicultural home, my mom is Costa Rican and my dad is American. I’ve been with Kitestring for seven months now as a Durable Team Lead.

Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Outside of work I enjoy learning languages (computer and human), cooking, hiking, exercising, going to museums, and traveling.

Q: What led you to this career? Were you influenced by anyone or anything?
A: I was in a translation for video games class when I realized the challenges of that field were more tied to the way code had been written limiting the way the sentence could be translated. It inspired me to learn how to code and how to apply a more global view to the coding world.

Q: What are you most proud of accomplishing since joining Kitestring?
A: I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been placed on the Durable Teams at Kitestring. It’s really allowed me to learn how we can help our clients improve development processes with a new team structure.

Q: What keeps you motivated?
A: Learning keeps me motivated! There’s so much to cover in multiple areas, I’m never bored.

Q: What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?
A:
I’ve learned how to structure teams better to respond to quick changes.

Q: Where is your favorite destination to travel to and why?
A: A new country! Usually, I spend some time before the trip learning about the country, culture, language, and eating food from that country. Traveling to a new country is always an exciting experience.

Q: What could you give a 30-minute presentation on with no advance preparation?
A: It would probably be on meal prep or cooking.

Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I wanted to be an astronaut.

Q: What’s the best professional advice you’ve ever received?
A: Always take notes and you can learn from your mistakes.
